The Coast of Cornwall in Art from Turner to the Present Day
On this course we take a topographical tour of Cornwall around its coast through time via art and photography. The course includes artists who depicted or lived in different geographical areas of Cornwall including The Lizard, Falmouth, the Roseland Peninsula, Newlyn, Mousehole, Lamorna and St. Ives.

The First Art Colony in St. Ives (1890-1949)
In this course we will look at the first colony of artists who came to St. Ives in the late 19th century. It was an international melting pot with painters coming from as far as America, Australia, New Zealand and Sweden to capture the ever changing light.

The Art and Life of Henry Scott Tuke RA (1858-1929)
On this course we look at one of Falmouth’s most famous painters, Henry Scott Tuke. He was at the forefront of British figurative painting of the late Victorian and early Edwardian era. He specialised in maritime paintings, figure compositions – clothed and nude as well as portraiture.

The History of Crafts in Cornwall (1880s – Present Day)
In this course we look at the history of crafts in Cornwall from the 19th Century to the present day.
Each lecture will be covering work made in a different medium and will include ceramics, metal work, textiles, wood and glass. Printmaking and automata will also be included.
